Recently, Shenzhen Institute of Science and Technology Innovation obtained project funding of 2015Science and Technology Program ( from Bao’an District government)- Key Laboratory Construction to build up a terahertz application key laboratories, has beenpublished on the Bao'an government online,Bao’an Technology Innovation Council website.
Needless to say that terahertz wave has many unique characteristics in the electromagnetic spectrum, and the advantages of terahertz technology has been widely accepted by the scientific and technological circles. However, many of the theoretical problems in terahertz science have not yet been clarified and need to be further explored. In addition, due to the lack of in-depth understanding of terahertz fundamental theory, many terahertz problems remain on the surface and couldn’t get the right place of application. The construction of Terahertz Research Institute of Key Laboratory will provide a high level of innovation platform for domestic universities and research institutes, training senior professional and technical personnel, and promote the construction and development of related disciplines. As the basic researchgoes deeper, to establish a domestic first-class anda certain international reputation of the application of basic technology innovation service platform, to form a high-level research team leading terahertz application and innovative technology, gathering and training outstanding scientists.Through team members’ complementary and collaborative innovation, to make the laboratory become China's terahertz technology in the field of original research, technological innovation and the transformation of an important base to lead the regional scientific and technological innovation, services, economic development in Shenzhen.
In addition, SITTI intended to establish projects also includes the Shenzhen innovative institutions supporting construction project----Shenzhen ultra-high-speed mobile broadband communications technology engineering laboratory, and funded by scientific research cooperation projects----the global microwave communications architecture and system integration technology research cooperation projects.
